Friends,
We are entering our 36th year of serving the communities with emergency medical services and we would like to express our sincere thanks to you for supporting us in the past years. Your help enables us to serve you more efficiently.
This past year has seen numerous changes. The rising cost of fuel and medical equipment are just a few of those changes. The biggest change was the hiring of seven county employees to help with the daytime ambulance coverage where the volunteer hours are the lowest. This change brings with it the obligations of Northern Rescue in giving $100,000.00 in funds to Garrett County to pay for these paid employees.
This year again we are asking for your help by renewing your annual membership at a cost of $25.00. This rate remains the same as last year and is tax deductible. This membership will help us to offset some of these costs. The cost of the membership will be the same for an individual as it is for a household.
Just a Note: In order to comply with various regulations, we may have to increase our membership fees for the 2010 calendar year.
The $25.00 membership covers any balance not covered by your insurance. It will also cover those who are without insurance. Individuals without this membership will be billed for all services rendered after your insurance has been filed. This year we will also be offering a membership for businesses. The cost is $100.00 per business and $10.00 per employee to be covered. Employees are only covered during their regular working hours. Please return a list of employees to be covered with the membership card and appropriate fees.
Northern Rescue will continue to serve hospitals that meet the guidelines and protocols of the Maryland Emergency Medical Services. THERE MAY BE TIMES THAT OUR CREWS CHOOSE TO TRANSPORT TO ANOTHER SPECILITY FACILITY THAN THE ONE YOU ARE REQUESTING. THIS MAY BE DUE TO THE PATIENT’S MEDICAL CONDITION OR INCLEMENT WEATHER.
Remember to return your membership card with all the information completed on the receipt of this letter.
